gown workshop

I had scheduled a ball gown workshop in 2012 - which is small and filled at this time.
Since the 'ball season' for 2011 will have already taken place - I have contacted my students and asked if they might be interested in a 'sheer' gown workshop. This way everyone would come away having created a wonderful gown and have learned how to work with sheer fabrics fabric at the same time.
Working with sheer fabrics requires different techniques. Everyone agreed, and are very excited to have the class. This way they are getting two things for one price- coming away with a lovely summer dress to wear to summer garden parties, teas, cotillions, etc. and learn the various rules and requirements working with this type of textile.
While the class is filled - if anyone would like to have printouts and information used for the class - please contact me in the early spring.

I started my millinery business in Oceanside California many years ago - making contemporary hats. I have a tremendous love of hat making. How to make the 'bones' of a hat or bonnet is a fascination and a process that I love.
I now make period accurate hats and bonnets. It is a joy to start with a bit of wire, straw and buckram and end up with a thing of beauty.
