Midnight Blue Crisp Taffeta Gown

This is the perfect visiting gown. The skirt is a generous 177 inches in circumference. It is an elliptical skirt, measuring 44 inches at center front and 45  inches at center back, and is directionally pleated all around, with the back of the skirt being the fullest. A wide band of black velvet near the hem which is edged with black braid. The hem is finished with a 5 inch black cotton facing.

The beautiful bodice has a round, or straight (at natural) wasitline and has a front opening with 10 small black velvet covered buttons. It is fully lined and boned at center back, sides and front. The sleeves are the beautiful crowning feature of this gown. They are a pleated pagoda style with a beautiful little cap. Both are edge trimmed with a narrow black braid. The sleeves are lined in white silk, with the inside edge "neatened" with white satin ribbon.
