THIS BABY PINK, SOFT  THIN COTTON DRESS IS A PURE CONFECTION, PERFECT FOR A GARDEN PARTY.

 

A summer dress made in two separate pieces - not attached so that a ball or party bodice might be used with the skirt.

 

The fitted bodice is made using my Basic Bodice and pagoda sleeve sloapers. The sleeves and bodice are both flat lined with white muslin. The bodice is fully boned, and closed at the center front with shell buttons.

There are three rows of 4 inch ruffles on the skirt and two rows on the sleeves. These are all hand gathered and applied to the garment. All ruffles are edged with narrow black satin ribbon totaling 30 yards.

 

Narrow piping is in the neckline, shoulder, and armhole seams. There is a stiffened belt with 27 inch streamers and a bow that covers the hook fastener. The belt can be worn in front or back.

 

The hand guaged skirt has equally distributed fullness, and  is hand attached to a one inch cotton twill tape.
