Yellow and Black Plaid Skirt

SIZE 14

Queen Victoria reigned for the greater part of the 1800's. The Victorian Era is named for her. This time then, encompassed the time of the American Civil War. Much of fashion was influenced by her and by the times itself.

Balmoral was built for the queen by her beloved Prince Albert. It was her favorite place in the world. One cannot think of Scotland without thinking of the clan plaids. I made this skirt with that in mind.

The skirt has directional pleats that are beautifully and evenly pleated to emphasize the pattern of the plaid. It is sewn to a self-fabric waistband. It measures 43 inches at the center front and 44 inches at the center back. The center back opening has a 10 inch placket. The turned hem is a generous 5 inches and a 149 inch circumference. The fabric is woven, (not printed).
