How to Measure for a Bodice

First, wearing a chemise and corset, have a second person measure you by the following instruction:

1. Height: Without shoes, stand against a wall, measure from top of head to floor.

2. Bust: Measure around the fullest part of bust and straight around the back.

3. Height Bust: Measure around up under the arms and straight around the back.

4. Waist: Tie a piece of elastic around the waist (not too tightly). The point where it settles will be the natural waistline. Put your tape over the elastic to measure.

Basic Bodice Sloper Sizes

The sizes below are not multisizes. When a measurement is in between - go to the larger size. It is far eaiser to make a larger seam then to let out. It is also important to remember that when making your muslin, it is good to have an excess to seam out to achieve your perfect, custom fit.
